Cris "Kesz" Valdez : A Former Street Kid Shines!

Cris "Kesz" Valdez shines and inspires more than 10,000 street kids in the Philippines and perhaps the whole world. He is this year's recipient of the Intentional Children Peace Award. A child who was often beaten by his father and forced to look for money to buy drug and alcohol. Run away to stay alive and stayed at the dump site at 4. He suffered terrible misfortunes at a very young age.

But from there on he stood up with the help of his foster father, he started to inspire fellow street kids by taking care of their wounds, guiding and teaching proper hygiene and giving them gifts which he usually never had before.

It is a shame for ourselves that this time a 13 years old former street kid take the lead to fill in the missing link between society and street living. He felt the hardships but the burden gave him enough strength to lay hands to the needy, those forgotten by our society.

These video just showed how extra ordinary Cris "Kesz" Valdez in his struggle. A true inspiration not only to the street kids but to everyone.

According to Angelican Bishop Desmod Tutu " these young people show the incredible resilience in human spirit"

Phils. Anti- Cybercrime Law: A threat to social media users freedom of Speech?

September 12 was the date Pres. Aquino signed the anti-cybercrime law, The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Many social media users specially bloggers decry the stipulations of this law. According to them, the fear of the implications from the new cybercrime law in which the freedom of expression will be choked and so with the freedom of the press. This law might have hightened the provision of  libel though from using  the latest technology in communication.

The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 is intended to punish offenses such as identity theft, spamming, cybersex, child pornography,  hacking and libel.

The concern of the bloggers and  the general social medi users would be, what happen to the freedom of expression?. One thing for sure, online libel offenses will expectedly a major subject in court litigation.

According to a certain  comment posted under Philstar.com, that the Philippines Anti-cybercrime Prevention Act has broaden the scope of the libel law from which the United Nations Human Rights Council declared it excessive and called the Philippine government to review the provision to a favor of decriminalizing libel.

Eventually, this law is a clear sign that the Philippines is moving backward from the digital world. "The passage of this law will signal a floodgates of internet regulations that will gravely affect Filipino netizens" according to The  Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility.

The National Reintegration Center for OFWs' offers a maximum of 2 Billion Pesos OFW Reintegration Fund. This is a special loan program from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in partnership with Land Bank and the Development Bank of the Philippines. This is inteneded to support entreprise development among OFWs' and their families.

Eligible active OFWs' may apply if completed the Entrepreneural Development Training conducted by NCRO and OWWA in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry/ Philippine Trade Training Center and Bureau of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development.

The visible project must have a viable business plan and will generate a monthly income of not less than Php.10,000.

The loanable amount is 2 Million pesos maximum and minimum of Php. 300,000 with an interest rate of 7.5% per annum.A fixed term based on the diminising balance.

All loan application must have a corresponding collateral most importantly in a real estate. However, if you have a viable business plan that has a proven success rate they might consider a non collateral loan pertaining you have proofs of a market business greement or a purchase order or contracts.
