Veronica Pedrosa in Al Jazeera News Channel

Filipinos do excel in the international media, if you often switch your TV channel to Al Jazeera news, then perhaps you have seen the three powerful Filipina regular correspondents namely Marga Ortigas, Jameela Allendogan and of course the veteran Veronica Pedrosa.

As an avid viewer of the Qatar based news channel Al Jazeera, I couldn’t help but notice the eloquence of how candid Veronica Pedrosa delivers her news coverage. Sometime of last year, I had followed her interview with the former Philippine first lady Madam Imelda Romualdez Marcos. Her spontaneity had obviously startled the former first lady and somewhat made her like grasping for fresh air or a feeling like  to move out from the hot seat every time questions thrown at her.  I could deliberately describe the whole interview as a direct confrontation since Pedrosa’s were exiled during the Marcos regime due to a reason that her mother wrote a biography of the first lady that might not passed to her liking.

This afternoon, I had the opportunity again to watch Veronica Pedrosa interviewing the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. I could sense some strong statements asked in a pleasant tone with which the Malaysian Prime Minister has conveyed nothing but a pleasant and a direct response. The interview ended with such amazement.

Who is Vernonica Pedrosa?

Try to visit her own website and get to know her well http://veronicapedrosa.com/. Veronica Pedrosa is a veteran in an international media with 20 years of solid news experience. She has lived in three continents and grew up in London where was educated in a prestigious St. Paul’s Girls School and Newham College in Cambridge.

Investment option in a Cooperative Bank

Cooperative bank came to exist under the emancipation of the Republic Act No. 720 also known as Rural Bank Act, “An act of providing for the creation, organization and operation of rural banks, and for other purposes”.

Under its provision, the aim is to promote rural economy by providing people a good opportunity in productive activities by providing them good access to financial credit facilities at reasonable terms.

A cooperative bank is one that is organized by cooperatives in which registered members and majority shareholders mainly controlled the programs.  Certain cooperatives accept membership in a 200 Php per share wherein a minimum of 10 shares required together with the cooperative membership seminar and financial training. Registered member in a particular cooperative is entitled to such privileges and benefits such as burial financial support from a death of registered member or a family member, a dividend and a loan of any type with flexible terms.

A cooperative bank provides products to non-bankable but economically active poor individual. Sometimes, saving deposit applied would be a little bit higher than any big commercial banks. Also, interest rate for savings account compounded quarterly making it a good value to let savings grow further.

Cooperative banks mostly are microfinance based cooperative which provides livelihood assistance program, financial assistance for micro entrepreneurs and special financial assistance loan to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs’).

Micro financing in cooperative banks allow the marginalized poor to get a piece of society’s mainstream by giving them access to different financial services.

A cooperative has more diversified financial services to its members, though it is still under the regulation of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), all is designed for the benefits of its members.

How does camel deliver her baby?

I have been working in the Middle East for quite a long time but I have never seen up close and personal how does a camel deliver her baby.

Actually a baby camel is called a calf, the mother camel is called a cow and the father camel is called a bull.

Watching the camel’s enduring labor and deliver a calf is upsetting but it is how the nature rules.

Our Life as a natural process

I always remember my former doctor once told me long years back that “Life is full of surprises”. Indeed, and sometimes we were caught up in an overwhelming situation.

We all struggle to win from it but sometimes we lost and fail. This is life’s natural process, the only thing that matter is how we accept and handle this process.

Sometimes, our life travels in a stream free from turbulence, swiftly passes through the oasis of happiness. We could then say we’re blessed in abundance of good fortune.

Life changes in its own ways, it has to adapt to the full force of nature. We have to observe keenly to see and follow our personal direction. If we fail, then we have to look back, assess our faults and start to rectify our life’s mistake. We should always take this as a personal responsibility.

Our life’s natural process is beyond control, we only have to find our own music and dance with it. The steps we make is our choices, as we stride and sway we will learn to keep the lessons in it.

Here’s the summary to accept life as a natural process

1.       Without God your existence is nothing.
        -          Admit that we are all subject to God’s blessings and grace. God has
bestowed us the intellect to wisely straddle our path for our own success.

2.       You are responsible of your own life.
      -  Your path of success is uniquely designed at your own pace. Don’t
compare yourself nor blame others from your shortcomings.

3.       Try to learn to accept mistakes.
        -     Sometimes, we made mistakes for a reason. That mistake is not the end
of our existence instead it is the beginning to get a new inspiration for our
           daily struggle.

4.       Live your life to its fullest.
     - Enjoy life surprises and dance with the music of your struggle you will
eventually win it as you master your own dance steps.

5.       Life is a real show.
      - There’s no retakes, it has to go in its own way. Try to get the lessons from
every episode and learn from it. Move on! There’s so much to discover.
